If you play everyday you should change your strings every 4-6 months. You’re guitar will sound brighter and it will often play better.
IMPORTANT: It’s essential that you know the string names. You’re tuning the new strings to E-A-D-G-B-E. Make sure your guitar tuner says the right note for the string you’re tuning.
Once you have put the new strings on and tuned them up don’t expect your guitar to stay in tune. It will take some time for the new strings to stretch and settle on to your guitar. So keep tuning it everytime you practice.
