- It's important to be comfortable when playing guitar. Even if you already feel confident with holding the guitar please watch this video to double check.
- Classical (Left Leg) Vs Modern (Right Leg). Playing on the left leg can feel strange but it straightens your back and you will feel closer to your guitar. It may not look cool, but it sure can help your technique. Give it a try.
- Buy a Foot Stole. I use one in all of my video lessons. Set it up so your leg is raised 20-30cm from the ground. Here's my Foot Stool recommendation
- Your picking arm and wrist should be parallel with the strings. Think flat wrist onto the strings.
- Use the tips of your fingers and pull the strings with a slight angle towards your right shoulder. Pivot from the thumb joint (watch the video for this)
- Fingernails Vs No Fingernails. Entirely your choice, fingernails sound sharper and more like a plectrum. I won't be using fingernail picks in this course.
