You know, those times when you feel inspired, energised and positive about your playing.
For me, this happens the most when I'm playing guitar with other people.
Playing with others is the best confidence building technique I can think of. Second only to performing with other people.
It's such a buzz.
When you play with others it strengthens your feeling of rhythm and timing.
Music is meant to be shared. It's mass communication.
Sharing and learning with others is a natural progression that most guitarists eventually aspire to.
And that's exactly why the LGIL Guitar Retreats were born. To give you the opportunity to learn, perform and share your playing in a supportive and encouraging environment with like minded people.

The main goal of the retreat is to boost your playing confidence and inspire your practice.
The full itinerary isn't planned yet, but the retreat will cover rhythm and fingerstyle acoustic playing.
They'll be group workshops, jamming and open mic performances in the evenings.
All you need to bring is a willingness to get stuck in and you'll soon discover how playing guitar with others is the most fun you've had in ages.

Q: How Good Does My Playing Have To Be?
A: As good as you are now. While this retreat isn’t for raw beginners the group will be a mix of skill levels.
You will need to be able to change between common open chords and be able to perform a couple of basic fingerstyle patterns. (More details about this at the bottom of this page…)
Q: I Don't Live In The UK. Can I Still Attend?
A: Yes! I’ve had students attend these retreat from all over the world.
If you’re travelling from overseas the closest major airport is Birmingham City Airport (28 miles away) The hotel is 3 miles away from Stratford-Upon -Avon train station.
Q: What's NOT Included In The Price?
A: Your travel to and from the retreat, evening drinks and travel insurance.
Q: What's The Hotel Like?
A: The Welcombe Hotel has a 4 star rating on TripAdvisor. It’s got a health centre that has a spa, gym and a swimming pool. You can get to Stratford Upon Avon in just 10 minutes by car. There’s also a stunning golf course right next to the hotel. Stratford itself is a lovely UK town famous for being the birthplace of Shakespeare.

There’s parking at the hotel.
If you’re travelling by train from London the closest station is Stratford Upon Avon. Trains go from London Marylebone (2 hour journey time).
The nearest major airport is Birmingham International.
Q: Can I Bring A Partner With Me?
A: Yes. You can bring a non-playing partner for an extra £50. This includes full board for your partner and the 2 night stay. All other hotel facilities (spa. swimming pool etc) (except golf) are also included for your partner.
Rooms can be configured upon request. Just let me know.
Q: What's Your Cancellation Policy?
A: If for any reason you have to cancel please allow at least 7 weeks before the event start date and I will try to fill your place and offer you a refund on your deposit.
Unfortunately, if I cannot re-allocate your place I may not be able to offer you a refund on your deposit.
I reserve the right to change or cancel the event at any time. In which case, all students will be given a full refund.
